Recently saw Kid Capri at a club in NYC (top 5 live hip-hop DJ IMO) . He was at the apex of his patented classic hip-hop set. He stops the music and yells into the mic "Y'all ready for some real hip-hop?!!!" I was expecting some Gang Starr, maybe early BDP, or perhaps Audio Two for the Money Makin' crowd… Nope, he dropped this and the predominantly Uptown crowd went crazy. "Jump Around" is the ultimate crossover hip-hop classic. Frat boys, WC homies, Azn racers, and New Yorkers can all get down to this Irish outlier. It's like the Taco Bell of hip-hop records. To commemorate its supreme grandness, Get On Down has pressed up this limited green vinyl version with Pete Rock's cult classic Blood Stain remix. Recommended.
